The King Reigns Once Again!
LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers defeat the Atlanta Hawks to win the NBA Eastern Conference championship title. After only 4 games in a 7 game series, the Hawks faced a disappointing blowout (88-118) against the Cavs. The Cavs had an overall record of 53-29 during this past season. Although this trip to the Finals is exciting for the team and the city of Cleveland, it is especially important to James himself. Fans had a sour taste in their mouths after he left Cleveland to go play for and win 2 championships with the Miami Heat after failed attempts to bring the winning trophy home. For LeBron James, advancing this far in the playoffs is crucial because spectators have referenced his success to having the help of Dwayne Wade and Chris Bosh in Miami. However, this is James' 5th consecutive trip to the NBA Finals between playing for the Heat and the Cavs. The Cavaliers will face the Golden State Warriors in the championship series beginning on June 4th.
